Primary care FAQs
What is the difference between primary care and urgent care?
Urgent care is for problems that need attention today. Primary care is an ongoing relationship with a physician who manages long-term conditions, does check-ups, and helps you plan preventive care. You can use both at MedStar Family Care, with the same physicians.
How do I become a new primary care patient?
Call (972) 442-4700 to schedule your first visit at Murphy or Little Elm. You can fill out the new patient forms ahead of time from our patient information page.
Can I follow up with a primary care physician after an urgent care visit?
Yes. Because our urgent care and primary care physicians are the same team, you can schedule follow-up care after an urgent care visit. Call (972) 442-4700 to book.
